The son of our foundress, St. Jane de Chantal, wasn't as glad as Sr. Mary Roberta's son at her choice of the consecrated life! (Here is a link to that famous story...)

while we often hear about parents' reaction to women entering convents & monasteries, we don't hear as much about reactions from their children.
Would love to know more about what brought you and the other sisters to the monastery...and what it is like for those who have children and make this choice....
The Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary was founded in 1610 by Saint Francis de Sales and Saint Jane de Chantal. Our Monastery of Georgetown was established by Archbishop Leonard Neale in 1799.
