Devotion from Sr. Anne Francis
Saint Francis de Sales's highest mansion of prayer is identical to Saint Teresa of Avila's ecstasy of action through charity. "If the heart stays close with the Lord, it should forget itself entirely; so forgetful to self that one’s mind is totally taken up with pleasing him and discovering new ways to express one’s love for him. . ."
These spiritual nuptials are constantly giving birth to good works. We pray not to enjoy, but with the aim of gathering fresh energy to serve the Lord. The soul of prayer is charity, always on the lookout for providential opportunities to act or suffer so as to please the Lord. May God Be praised.
Sr. Anne Francis
